Have you contacted a Leadtek rep or NVIDIA?

Of course not, if they did, they wouldnt have something to post about.

Get a grip guys, bashing nVidia for whatever reason is becoming a sport.

Look, it's quite simple. The NV40 has 16 pipelines, but only 8 alpha blenders, and there is only enough bandwidth to blend 8 pixels per clock anyway (so it has the optimal number of alpha units). 3DMark2003 fillrate test uses alpha blending, which exceeds max bandwidth, and means only 8 pixels can be handled per clock.

If you run a fillrate test that does not blend with the backbuffer, the fillrate will be much higher.

I just got my sample (6800 NU) and ran Mcdolencs fillrate tester and got a 2600 MP/s pixel fillrate, 5100 MP/s z fillrate.

I tried overclocking the memory over 100 MHz over stock and it had basically no impact on fillrate at all. (10 MP/s or so.)

I'd say it's pretty safe to say that these boards are 8x1.

Edit: just to be absoltely certain i have e-mailed both nVidia and Leadtek about it. I'll report back when I get the replies.

He comes across as such a fool. At first I thought he was British then seeing his location realized he just wasn't too endowed with intelligence.

IT'S 'SPOSED TO BE A PIRATE ACCENT!!!

Not Irish, not English, a pirate as in "Argh, argh, argh; cut of me leg and call me Peggy! Argh, argh, argh".

As for the intelligence bit, well your opinion is your own. :)

Most people wait at least 20-25 posts in the community before they turn into assholes, it seems your ahead of the curve thanks for adding something positive to the community prick.

It'll be interesting to see which part, 8 pipes or 12 pipes, gets on the shelves. Could it be that Nv has reduced the specs since the review samples were sent out, that yields were so poor that the 6800nu now has 8 pipes and the GT will have 12... and that you need to get a homeloan to buy a 16 pipe ultra on ebay?

meh, flashing the BIOS on a video card can always be undone with your Good Buddy autoexec.bat.

    http://www.fi.muni.cz/~xjahoda/hw/leadtek_a400tdh/GL_EXT_REME_Results_335-780.txt

    3Dmark03 fill-rate multi-texturing:
    GF 6800 @ 335/700 : 2630 Mtexel/s
    GF 6800 @ 335/780 : 2632 Mtexel/s

    GL_EXT_reme fill-rate multi-texturing:
    GF 6800 @ 335/700 : 2562 Mtexel/s
    GF 6800 @ 335/780 : 2602 Mtexel/s

It looks like the card isn't bandwith limited in fill-rate (multi-texturing) test.

I discovered that at 400 (800 MHz eff.) isn't card fully stable.

Today we contacted Leadtek and they answer: "You could flash new BIOS, tomorrow we'll send you the latest version"

The card has 05/14/2004 v1.0 BIOS version.

2 markitos: I DO NOT PREFER ATI OR NVIDIA (my heart belongs to PowerVR) and I think that NV40 is very exciting GPU (no bashing nVidia :( )
