Dead Space is free on Origin right now, the latest in EA’s regular On the House series. Just claim it, and it’s yours forever. The only catch, such as it is, is having to install Origin, but that’s a small price to pay in order to enjoy the horrific adventures of Isaac Clarke.

Dead Space was released in 2008, so you won’t need a beefy gaming PC to run it, but it remains one of the best horror games released over the past decade.

A poster at guru3d posted a link to the game's wiki. The mouse fix seems to help. Just paste the .dll in the game's main folder, done.

Huh. Twitch (aka Amazon) Prime just announced monthly free games (as opposed a more irregular past schedule), starting with March from 3/15 - 3/31:

Strong start. Practically Humble Monthly quality. We'll see if they can sustain it, considering Amazon Prime is cheaper and gives you a lot of other benefits.

As for "yours to keep, " if it works like past Twitch Prime freebies, you can install them while you're a member via their app and run them without it. Presumably they're yours as long as you don't uninstall them. Dunno how updates work, with or without a current membership. (Steam has made me soft. )

Edit: Apparently they're yours to keep (i.e., download) even after you're no longer Prime. So you could use a free trial of either Prime service to get all those games. Cuckoo! But move them out of the Twitch directory, as otherwise they'll be uninstalled if you uninstall the Twitch App.

Developer 11 bit studios has announced that This War of Mine will be available for PC owners to play for free through Steam from now through April 8th, 2018. Specifically, this move is in preparation for the release of the studio’s upcoming Frostpunk, which will release near the end of the month
