Found a neat little visual HDD activity indicator app.

with a few meters or feets of thin cable you can also have a real HDD LED wherever you want :)
or why not some cable between the HDD LED pins and the parallel port (it's +5V no?), and make a small program that does the same thing by reading the input on LPT1.

Hey...I like supporting the little guys.:p

Anyway I recently purchased a brand new empty multiplexer chassis for only a few dollars and plan to use it for a custom modded pc. The chassis has no LEDs but there are some holes for LEDs and one for a power switch. During my search for a hardware solution I found this app which is pretty neat. I've found quite a few hardware solutions though. I will be getting this http://www.dragonmodz.net/product_info.php?cPath=22&products_id=39 but will use my own LED array.

Something like this http://www.micsaund.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/02/bargraph.avi

Then again I might just go all out and buy a fullblown parallel port driven LCD/VFD display which would end up being more expensive but more functional too. I would also need to make a big rectangular cutout.

...then again why not just do both?:devilish:
