Privatized Prisions has created a shadow industry of cheap labor in the states. It's what happens when people set deals without avoiding basic conflicts of interest.

    https://www.cnn.com/2019/07/06/us/jeffrey-epstein-arrest-sex-trafficking-indictment/index.html

Florida-based billionaire Jeffrey Epstein has been indicted on new charges related to alleged sex crimes involving minors, law enforcement sources told CNN on Saturday.

Epstein was arrested Saturday and is expected to appear in federal court in New York on Monday.

Epstein faces charges brought by US prosecutors in Manhattan, after previously evading similar charges when he secured a non-prosecution deal with federal prosecutors in Miami.

The charges, contained in a sealed indictment, involve alleged sex trafficking crimes committed between 2002 and 2005, according to law enforcement sources. The indictment alleged that the crimes occurred in both New York and Palm Beach, Florida.

Florida man arrested after shooting threat on Facebook
Man posted message: "Don't go to Walmart"

Florida authorities are charging a 26-year-old man they say posted a threat on Facebook that he was about to have his semi-automatic rifle returned and people should stay away from Walmart.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement arrested Richard Clayton on Friday north of Orlando. The agency said Clayton posted his threat on Sunday, the day after a gunman in El Paso, Texas, killed 22 people and injured two dozen at a Walmart.

Investigators said the post read, “3 more days of probation left then I get my AR-15 back. Don’t go to Walmart next week.”

A department spokeswoman said Clayton was not on probation.

The FDLE said Clayton appears to believe in white supremacist ideology and has a history of posting threats on Facebook using fake accounts.

He was charged with making written threats to kill or do bodily harm. The FBI received a tip about the post on Tuesday.

Move over, Florida man: Woman pulls gator from pants during Fort Myers traffic stop

FORT MYERS, Fla. – A Florida woman who pulled a foot-long alligator from her pants during a traffic stop in May and had more than 40 turtles in a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles backpack pleaded no contest to multiple charges Wednesday in Charlotte County.

Ariel Michelle Marchan-Le Quire, 26, of Fort Myers was a passenger in a pickup pulled over for failure to stop for a stop sign in Charlotte County.

Marchan-Le Quire, listed on an arrest report as homeless and living in Fort Myers, entered a no contest plea to one count of taking or possessing an American alligator, one count of taking or possessing more than one turtle per day, one count of transporting more than one turtle or turtle egg and one count of taking or possessing a softshell turtle.

She was found guilty by the court on all counts and sentenced to 24 months probation. She will also have to complete 200 community service hours and make a $500 donation to the FWC's Wildlife Alert Fund.

My news feed hasn't been pushing "Florida Man" stories lately, but it did have this one...

Florida man gets 10 days in jail for missing jury duty
Deandre Somerville's sentence also includes three months of probation, 30 hours of community service, an apology letter, and a $223 fine.

Somerville was chosen as a juror on Aug. 20 for a civil trial in Florida's 15th judicial circuit. He was ordered to return the following day at 9:30 a.m. After waking up and realizing he overslept, he says he sought answers online regarding possible punishments for missing jury duty.

"I should have called," Somerville told NBC News. "But I was kind of nervous. I also went online to look up what could really happen, and I didn't really see too much there. ... [It looked like] nobody actually ever really went to jail for it."

Feeling "relief" from what he found, Somerville carried on as usual, heading to his job with the city's Parks and Recreation Department, where he works with kids in afterschool programs.

But that relief wouldn't last long. On Sept. 23, Palm Beach County Circuit Judge John S. Kastrenakes found Somerville in criminal contempt of the court.

I was already thinking WTF, but then I got to this part and really don't know what to think now...

“The devil can’t hurt you, he only hurts bad people,” Williams said just before the crash, according to the police report, which cited a witness whose name was redacted. “You have the light of Jesus in you and only Jesus can cure us,” according to the police report.

She clearly doesn't know her own children. Those brats had been stealing from the cookie jar as she slept for months already.

If it prevented her from eating there, it might have been an attempt at mercy.

Florida student arrested for using Instagram to try to have school staffer killed, says he was 'joking around'
A Florida high school student is under arrest after authorities say he used social media to solicit someone to kill a school staffer.

Nicholas Godfrey, 18, is accused of sending Instagram direct messages to a fellow student at Fivay High School in Pasco County, according to Tampa ABC affiliate WFTS.

"I need a guy who could kill someone," Godfrey wrote, according to police.

He indicated that he would give the student $100,000 for the staff member's head.

"No joke, I need him eliminated as soon as possible," Godfrey allegedly wrote.

Police traced the messages to Godfrey by obtaining a search warrant for his Instagram account, which revealed an IP address associated with Godfrey's residence.

Florida student body president faces impeachment for Donald Trump Jr.'s $50K campus visit

The University of Florida's student body president is facing calls for impeachment after paying Donald Trump Jr. $50,000 in student tuition fees to speak on campus.

Five student government senators allege president Michael Murphy abused his power when he brought Trump Jr. to campus for a speaking engagement last month. The impeachment resolution was first obtained by the Tampa Bay Times.

The senators argue that the university's student government policies prohibit using tuition funds "in support of or against a political party at any level," according to the resolution.

"Mr. Murphy not only endangered students marginalized by the speakers' white nationalist supporters," the resolution says, "but also abused his power to advance a particular political party at the expense of the students he should represent."
