Alright, alright, stop the commiserating over large monetary figures before someone comes in here and gives us an estimate as to how many lire this translates to. ;)

Not sure if anyone else has posted it here, but eVga is shipping June 4th with the Extreme Edition. No clocks are posted but at "MAX" and it will cost $549.99. It will also have a lot of other stuff like gift cards, Far Cry, etc.....

Sounds like July to me....

I do not think they are shipping on June 4th! That's when they start their weekly drawing where the winner (as few as one per week?) will have the ability to purchase the card. I'm not expecting them to be able to ship any (not even 1) out until the last week of June (at the earliest).

The odds of you being right about July keep getting better and better. Between the rumors of poor yields, changing clock speeds, reconfiguring to one molex and immature drivers...there might to be some truth to one or more. If so, then late June to July seems about right.

If the x800 Pro rollout is any indication, it takes 3-4 weeks to ramp up to retail after the boards begin to trickle out. We are just now beginning to see early sign of that with NV40. It looks like another mess to me but I am biased to ATI.

Makes me wonder if that store is pulling the old trick: let them order, then send emails every few days explaining why you have them but can't ship them just yet...

Their reseller rating is 10, but they only have 4 votes. It's odd though, they have a negative comment in their review. Did that person not vote?

We have moore's law, murphy's law, and now dig's law: "the card will be available in July, so stop asking" ;)

Makes me wonder what kinda TV tuner you're talking about... tthey don't say it anywhere.

They do say "Features at a Glance
    • Integrated NTSC/PAL TV encoder supporting resolutions up to..."
though but this is normal: we called this TV-out, shortly.

That's spectacularly low. Are any of you guys hearing the same thing? Is there really that small a market for $500 cards, or is this a supply problem? If it's a supply problem, has anyone been able to determine if it's the GPUs or GDDR3 chips that are the constraint?

There is most certainly a market for many more of those $500 products than are currently available, but I would be surprised if 1% of gamers were interested in spending that much on a graphics card.

No! It's mine! All mine!!!

Seriously, though, I have very high hopes for this card and City of Heroes. I've gotten sooo addicted to City of Heroes lately, and it's an OpenGL game, so I'm expecting a big improvement (I've also noticed some problems that I'm hoping will be resolved....such as some flickering that looks like z-buffer errors....and, if performance improves enough, I'll have to go for higher resolution/higher detail....).

sorry to say but those errors are not fixed with either the 6800ultra or the x800xt . all performance will not go up as the game is very cpu bound . Though u could prob put on 8x fsaa on your geforce 6800

By the way, it looks like the Comp USA order page was put up early erroneously, and the Verto GeForce 6800 Ultra will not be released for another three weeks. So, I canceled my order and will keep my eyes open for something else....oh, well....
