Finding premodded 9500 video card

    Did you get a card that was guaranteed to work, or was this the first time the SoftMod was ever done on this card? I know some computer shops used to sell them pre-tested.

    I am sorry the thing that caused the checkerboard effect was a bad driver so back to my original question :lol: . where do I put this ati2mtag file? :!:

    By default the ATI installer extracts its driver files to C:\ATI\SUPPORT. Now, within the support directory is a directory named after your driver version... open that directory, then open the 2KXP_INF directory, followed by the B_09006 directory. Rename the ati2mtag.sy_ file in here to ati2mtag.bak and paste your ati2mtag.sys file in this directory. You can rename it to ati2mtag.sy_ if you wish, but it doesn't seem to matter. Now, install your drivers and you should have the softmod running. :)
