I really hope they can accomplish this. It really is one of the best Final Fantasy games ever made, and it's a really good MMO as well. There are many stories interwoven throughout. The Hildebrand storyline is hilariously goofy. The main storyline has plot twists upon plot twists. There's a massive number of Final Fantasy fan service mini-storylines. Etc.

And if Nintendo and MS agree to this, there is absolutely nothing Sony can do to prevent cross-platform play without alienating the Final Fantasy player base.

I enjoyed every bit of its 14 day trial a while back. A really good game there.
Heard now the trial is even longer and not limited to 14 days but to some level.

Supposedly not, there was a great deal of network related things for them to work out.

The biggest problem was reportedly MS policy+ Xbox Live Gold.
This time for example it was about Cross-Play where Xbox player had to play alone while PC and PS players could play together.
Later then the devs decided to work on PC+PS versions til they can fix the MS situation.

That is odd because with the previous ff online game you didn't even need xbox live gold to play with pc players
