Anyone wanting to play this or FFVIII might want to take a look here: http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=8306

It's a nice new driver adding hires OpenGL support. There may still be a bug or two (haven't tried the latest version) but it's pretty cool.

Now if only they could replace the PC FMV (horrible video quality) with the PS1 FMV that would be awesome.

Try watching the PS1 FMV in an emulator with filtering turned off. It ain't pretty.

I'm sure it's better than the PC FMV, but it's still ugly.

Try selling it on ebay. The PC version of FFVII is a collector's item by now.

It just so happens that it is one of my favourite games too!
I have a PC copy at home. Have played it on Voodoo Rush, Permedia 2, Riva TNT and Voodoo 5. The problem was getting it to work on anything more modern than Win98.

The other month I started the PS1 version on my PS2.
First thought: "Ugh. Time has not been kind to the these graphics."
    Second thought: "Hm. Good game,"
Third thought: "Hey! Where'd my evening go?"

I actually played through FFII back in the day. Didn't like it very much though, the story felt confused and I think it's just wrong when all the characters can learn magic. IMO, best FF ever was IV (III in the west, I believe). Cecil, Golbez, Parom and porom... Wow. THOSE were some fun times. :)

You had black mages and white mages, and that was it, none of that materia bullshit that they invented later. The other characters don't cast magic (with the exception of that Rydia chick who summons and stuff, but she's kinda special.)

It was 2 in the west. 3 in the west was 6 in Japan.
