    My System Spec's???

Do you guys think my system spec's would be sufficient to run this game at fairly high detail levels???

    Albatron PX845PE Pro II MB
    Intel Pentium 4 2.53GHz/533fsb
    768MB TwinMOS PC3200 DDR-SDRAM @ 354MHz w/ CL2
    ATi Radeon 9700 Pro w/ Catalyst 4.3
    Integrated AC'97 6-Channel Sound
    MS Windows XP Pro SP1 & DX9.0b

    Thanks

    I have a 1700+ at home that does 3 Ghz on LN2 ;)
    it does 2800+ on air
at stock voltage it can go 2600+ at the most
cost me like 40-50 bucks or so :)

    pretty decent eh?

2800+ is still way below 3 ghz.
And LN2, I'm not familiar with that, but are you referring to the L2 cache?(in which case you L1 cache does what, 6 ghz?)

I would guess that it's Liquid Nitrogen. Exotic but very nice for reaching those out-of-this-world speeds.

Woah, wouldn't that do permanent damage to the computer, and possibly require constant pouring?(at least it seemed like it when they used liquid nitrogen at tom's hardware to get a 5 ghz p4)

it does 2800+ (2.25GHz) on air
it does 3 Ghz on LN2 (dunno what that is in PR ratings)

still from 1700+ to 2800+ with just simple air cooling (I have a silent fan. ie it isn't the most effective one around) is pretty good

it did break while pushing it beyond 3 Ghz

    R.I.P. ;)

and oh yeah, Fox5 you would need "constant" puring yes, we only did it for fun

Wow, you're either crazy or eccentric.

BTW, 2.25 thoroughbred may be 2800+ in pr ratings, but it would probably outperform a 2800+ barton assuming it has a 333 or 400 mhz bus.
3 ghz thoroughbred would probably be like a 3700+.

2 questions for you guys ...

AF ... is it normal with no option " NONE " ? default = 1 ? Cause i'm sure i can get like 5-10 fps more w/o the 1 AF in some case.

there's any sharks in the sea ?! or any special things.

    Thx

EXCELLENT game. Haven't played enough to say more than that, but shooting a propane tank's supports, watching it roll down a hill, and then blowing it up to kill three guys makes my day.

Well, i played until the "fort" level...

And yes, i do think Painkiller either:
    1) Has better physics
    2) Focuses more of its appeal on phsics.

Anyway, tried forcing AF8 and AA8...  it RUNS yeah... and i was surprised it wasn't a slideshow, but still totally unplayable...

Yes, this game is freaking hard, but trying to get past some parts in different ways is fun, although sometimes it all comes down to "remember where this guy is, kill him, remember where the next one is, kill him..."
    VERY VERY hard tho...

Can anyone tell me how to force PS 2.0 in Far Cry? Or is the only way pushing the game slider to high everything?

It seems that the default settings on my 9700Pro come up as "medium" which equates to PS 1.1 usage.

There is a console command, a guy posted a link in the last page... Tried it and to be honest, i cant see a difference so maybe i'm already running on PS2.0 (i'm on Very High-everything normally)... Don't know...

    You're 100% sure of that ? Cause if it's the case .. why it's not " NONE " ..

I was thinking about that, but i guess it stands for AF 1x, which means OFF... Go figure... Like an hypotetical Anti Aliasing 1x, like saying OFF. But that was my guess anyway....
