commiserations to Räikkönen. this is not starting looking good to Mercedes. 3rd race and now engine didn't survive even qualify. (yeah, I know, last time it was gearbox. but eventually each mechanical breakdown makes bad to Mercedes.)

Maybe that's a break he needed, a new engine for the race.

hehe :) well, the break wasn't enough. McLaren decided that it's best to start from end of the row, so Räikkönen didn't took 2nd qualifying lap.

not good at all. as finnish tv-commentator stated, Maybe it would be time to change team, instead of engine. :D

Well, I think it's pretty exciting to see BAR made to podium again. McLaren really needs to push harder.

hehe well, the break wasn't enough. McLaren decided that it's best to start from end of the row, so Räikkönen didn't took 2nd qualifying lap.

Yeah it didn't help, his engine went off in a very spectacular way, it looks like he hits afterburner.

Well that always happens, but knowing from the beginning that there's no competition is boring.

If you took Ferrari out of the picture, Williams, BAR, Renault were very competitive during the race. I mean beside for first and second place, the other points position changes until the end of the race.

Yes, the race was anything but boring. Cars overtaking, people racing for positions. Damn this track is hot(meaning very good). Wish the FIA would get more race tracks of this caliber on the FIA calender. Some race tracks like Hungaroring and Monte Carlo are just procession tracks which is very boring indeed.

More tracks like the Dubai track should be made.

Looking the the Drivers Championship, all one can say is wow. Jenson Third!! DB should be happy.

Looking at the Contructors' Championship Renault are looking good and BAR is there too. BAR definitely seem to have raised their game and I have to smile when I think in the beginning of the year when everyone was talking about the teams to be in this year were Ferrari, Williams, McLaren and Renault. Yet BAR seem to have pulled it out of the hat. Well done BAR(and Jenson).

The team to have totally lost the plot though must be McLaren. Very dissapointing indeed. And one must wonder what JPM must be thinking about joining the team and what he must be feeling after the comments he made earlier in the year. The comments went something like "Williams will be strong this year but next year McLaren next year will be much better."

Yeah, BAR is looking very good, but Ferrari NEVER EVER show their hand in testing. They often are accused of sandbagging even in GP friday free practice. :)

Ferrari is going to be tough to challenge to the title, even if one of the teams goes up on par during the season, but the battle to be 2nd best team is going to be fantastic. As it seems at the moment Renault, BAR and Williams looks like they have an equal shot at it. Very interesting.

BUTTON SHATTERS PAUL RICARD RECORD

Jenson Button was the king of the Formula 1 testing castle once again at Paul Ricard on Thursday, the BAR-Honda ace outpacing last year's world championship runner-up Kimi Raikkonen of McLaren-Mercedes by just over a second.

Button left the circuit in the south of France to make way for team-mate Takuma Sato on Friday, safe in the knowledge that his BAR team appears to have made yet more progress. The Briton logged a whacking 150 laps on the new Imola-spec Honda engine.

Jenson told autosport.com: "It's all very positive ahead of Imola, although we know Ferrari will be very strong there. I'm happy with what we've done, and the reliability has been flawless over the past two days. I'm not sure about the tyres for Imola, whether they will be good or not there, but we'll see what Taku does tomorrow."

Raikkonen was also happier than of late with his second fastest time. He told autosport.com: "I'm quite happy with the car's handling over these three days. We can see that BAR is very fast here, but as for Imola it is hard to tell at the moment. We'll have to wait and see when we get there."

When asked about his hopes for the start of the European season, he quipped: "I wish I could say that I could win the next five races, but I don't know!"

Antonio Pizzonia took over at Williams-BMW and set the third fastest time as he worked through an Imola tyre programme. The second McLaren of David Coulthard was fourth fastest.

DC told us: "We've managed a lot of mileage here, but at the end of the day it's only testing – I don't want to say it will be like this at Imola, but I think it could be very interesting. Straightline speed and handling over the kerbs is going to be vital. We've made some good improvements, and some average ones. I'm quite happy with it."

Fernando Alonso and Franck Montagny were next up, the Spaniard suffering with some problems with the new Imola-spec engine which caused him to halt the session. Toyota duo Olivier Panis and Ryan Briscoe were seventh and eighth.

Christian Klien was the slowest on the day after a rear suspension failure brought Jaguar's test to a premature end.

"It was a shame," Klien told autosport.com. "I felt something strange at the right rear, so I brought it in. The team wanted to check it out at the factory, so that was it."

Hehehe Imola is just a 1H drive from my home in Bologna... Awwww the memories... Dreadful place to live in (Imola i mean), but hey, i'm a Bologna aristocrat... (yeah right...) ;)

... And can i add...

How much "at home" will Ferrari feel, i mean the bloody track is named after the founders of their company!!

Like having a "Mercedes" track...

Anyone still care to bet on this year's championship? I mean i'd have give up a long time ago...
