Serious congratulations again, I've been hearing from a lot of people at ATi who heard the news and were very happy to hear you were joining their company. :)

Congratulations on the new job. You've been a gem for Beyond3D and you will be one for ATI.

The standard of marketing documents from ATI is about to vastly increase!

I believe Richard is Mordenkainen. I hope I spelled his nickname correctly. Oh... and my congratulations to Dave as well.

Thanks everyone. With the emails/PM's etc. I'll be damned if I knew I now some many people in Toronto! If I'm to take up all the pints and dinners I think I'll be drunk for a month and not have to shell out anything on food either! ;)

ATI is a big company these days and I'll only have a tiny voice in there, so I wouldn't expect anything to change. However, I have my opinion on things which I believe will side with many of the enthusiasts (and press) on many occasions so I will add that voice to the cacophony thats already there.

Is that such a bad thing? Just kidding. Anyway, knowing some people can help adjusting to new situations.

Well, if you started off being drunk for a month you probably wouldn't be employed any longer, then those free meals could really come in handy...

... I wonder if ATI employees are allowed to post cryptic hints in public forums. Maybe the hints would have to be even less explicit

Wish you a merry ATI, Dave! (which reminds me, I hope you like the snow)

    Me too...

Congrats, was nice working with you when I had the chance.. I'm really happy for you but at the same time sad for the rest of us. We wont be able to read your masterpieces quite so regularly anymore, if at all.

Beyond3D has lost an incredible editor and ATi have made the best acquisition since buying ArtX ;)

EDIT: I cannot believe I learnt of this news first on The Inquirer and had to then check the front page to believe it was true.

It was Dave Barron. He went to 3dfx and later BitBoys after 3dfx went under.

That's why I suggested one big welcoming bash! Come on, who doesn't like a good party? Not only that, but it would be a great chance to meet interesting people for all involved. Sadly, I'm rather busy with university and proportionally poor, so I won't be of huge help in organising such an event. But if someone else out there has a moment to spare, maybe we can make something happen.

Heck, why not may it an annual event, "The B3D Club." This is as good an excuse as any.

Congrats Dave. I am a little too far out west to buy you a pint but I can always email you one :)

You will surely be well respected in your new position.
