Wow...I've been on my own personal hiatus for a few months...and I come back to check in...and just...wow!

Awesome news, Dave. Best of luck to you and your wife...I'm sure you'll do great.

And if you ever need anyone to show you the sights of Canada...don't call me...what the hell do I know? But then, if you ever make it down as far "south" as the New York area, look me up!

    Congradulations Dave

I rarely post here, but I've been enjoying Beyond3D for a number of years. I don't even know WHY I'm so interested in 3D hardware! Hell, I've got a landscape design degree (o.o;/ though I'm currently an English teacher in Japan!), but I've been truly facinated by 3D tech ever since I was researching a graphics card upgrade from the Matrox G400 (that came preinstalled in my family's computer a few years earlier) to a Radeon 64MB DDR board. I remember reading all kinds of fascinating information about the new (slickly named) graphical features of the card and have been following the industry ever since... and through that, my favorite hardware site period has been Beyond3D, and my favorite writer, you.

Good luck with ATI. I'm truly happy for you... *Laughs* While at the same time sad that my favorite reviewer will have to distance himself from the operations of the site due to his official nonnutrality. I really hope you manage to continue to contribute to Beyond3D in numerous other ways! =D Make sure we get all the new information posted within 30 seconds of the end of NDAs!

It has been a pleasure over-all to see a person so passionate about 3d. From the beginnings at the 3dfx technology and Voodoo lounge posting -- searching for information on the mythical Zeus chip - to talking about immersion for gaming - to what you have become today!

    Good luck and congratulations!

Sounds like someone who writes stuff that is sent out to reviewers so that they can write articles before NDA is lifted and publish them right when it is lifted.

Some nice and accurate sentiments here, many better-written than this: congrats! Hope both of you are happy with the move, and that we'll see you frequent the forums more along the lines of Humus than Kristof or Dave (read: weekly, as opposed to monthly or annually).

Oh, and before anyone else says it to you (using these precise words): sell-out! ;^)

Wow I don't know if I should feel disappointed or happy. I think a combo of both is appropriate XD Beyond3d has taught me soooo much over the past couple years and it's sad to see the man behind it all move on to new things. I knew it was going to happen eventually but still it's quite a shock. Hopefully B3D will be able to offer the same insightful articles as they always have been, I'm very interested in finding out who’s going to take the lead from here on out. Anyway good luck in Canada! It's a nice country and I'm sure you'll fit right in @ ATI :)
