I was originally using firmware revision 1.0b. I've just upgraded to firmware revision 1.0g, and it still appears to work.

A friend of mine had a similar problem with SafeDisc2 and Black and White.

I hate games that even make you stick the CD in the drive. These CDROM copy protection techniques suck.

Disabling DMA transfers is not an acceptable workaround. Using PIO mode causes noticeable slowdowns and stutter during disk access.

I actually prefer product activation. If you then are left alone and don't hae to put the disk in. However then the people have to have phone support as well.

    That's true.

Product activation is far better than forcing the user to place the CD in the drive.

I'm all for PA assuming there is no limitations of how many times you install/uninstall the program on the same computer and regardless of your hardware.

It will also prevent people from wanting to give out their software.

Unfortunately just like everything else in the world it can be cracked/hacked/mushed to bits and spat out of someones rear end.

Actually since I moved my Sony DRX-510UL from my G4 to my PC it's working. :)

But still: it's even more ridiculous if it's true what that VP said.

Sometimes I believe that (about writing is useless). Check the thread at their site and the poor answers I got.

But you are right, I do not support products like this.

If you read that thread, their ignorance/arrogance on the matter really seem to shine.

    Yeah.

    :)

Funny to see the 'accidents' at the same time: they banned me, then somebody with zero post start ranting on me over @ R3D, then somebody friendly mentioning a possible lawsuit against me... :D :D :D

PS: Actually that would be so nice if they would do me that favor and sue me... :D I'd make get a lof money eventually... :D

Anyway for no cd patches head to gamecopyworld.com .

    THey tend to have them.

But remember according to the publishers no cd hacks are a violation of your agreement .
