No, that has been scrapped. Far more important things (in the context of Beyond3D) to do unfortunately.

 

Anyway, just want to offer my apology to PowerK for, uh, hijacking his thread. I just never thought anyone would take my joke seriously.

Unless anyone has anything interesting to talk about regarding the beta patch or confirmation about officla patch release date, I'll lock this thread. In the morning, when I wake up.

 

Hopefully soon...it's driving me crazy that the SDK is completely finished and ready to be released but is being held up by the patch!
I'm guessing this week.

Oh, and I might've believed Reverend if he hadn't had the flashlight thing in there...back at QuakeCon an id guy hinted at shadow buffer support in a later patch...

 

The linux binaries are more important. That is just unacceptable.

 

So what about all that Audigy stuff id is supposed to be having to include? Is it coming with this patch too?

 

Depends on just what the deal was...the deal was to add support to the Doom 3 engine (meaning all Doom 3 powered games will have it) but I don't know if that includes Doom 3 or not. I'm guessing probably not, but I have no idea.

Activision emailed a bunch of sites (including me/B3D) about this official patch before FilePlanet posted it. There should be more sites sporting this soon enough if some of you have trouble with FilePlanet.

 

Why doesn't the update button work? :? or.... um... is that dependent on some special id server?

 

Anybody get an installation error?

I recieved the following message after attempting to install the 1.1 patch:

The game has been properly installed, although I have mod folders in the D3 directory. Maybe I'll try removing them.

Edit: Just tried removing mod folders from the Doom 3 base directory and this did nothing.

 

No CD crack perhaps?

I installed the 1.1 on top of the 1.05, no problem.
