Like Bouncing told you, you need to find the security chief's PDA, that is his office btw, not a lab. ;) You find the PDA wayyy earlier in the game, so unless you took notice of the messages stored in it, chances are you'll have forgotten about it by the time you reach this point. The guy's name is Michael Abrams as I recall. If you got the PDA, listen to the audio log, then read the emails and you have the door code.

I enjoy looking for the little secrets in Doom 3 way more than in most other games I've played, even without the classic statistics of the original, dunno why. Didn't even beat the game yet but I'm looking forward to playing it again and trying to find all the little things that i missed the first time.

One thing one should always pay attention to are the seemingly insignificant small monitors on consoles throughout the facility. There's probably hundreds of them that carry no importance, but every now and then there's one that will open a vent or a small hatch that will award you some goodies.

One little secret that I can remember off the top of my head is in the hall where you first encounter the skulls, the one where you hear a female crying for help. There's some pipes and beams that allow you to cross the chasm and get on a ledge below floor level, where you can find some ammo and an armor piece.

Like in the original games, its also possible to get hold of most weapons way before they're first "introduced" by some kind of setpiece or trap. Unfortunatelly its pretty useless as ammo is always extremely rare before the weapons are "officially" in your hands.

More as I find or remember it...

In the level with the half-life-like sets of machinery with moving platforms n stuff, right at the computer terminal that activates either of the two paths, there's a ladder down to the floor near the entrance door. There will be some ammo down there, and if one continues around the perimeter of the room, it will be a suit of armor there too, but it will spawn in some badguys if collected, as I found out when I died after falling down on top of it when I missed a jump! :?

It's possible to shoot down cacodemon lightning bolts mid-air with the machinegun, and probably chaingun too. Dunno bout pistol and shotgun. :D

People say plasma can shoot down revnant homing missiles, but I never really tried that, I was too busy putting something solid inbetween me and the missiles! :p

yup, it's possible. Bloody hard with the aiming or the shotgun spread.

Actually, I just did this last night. I was hoping I could shoot them down because they're such PITA. :D

Anyhoo, whenever you see a demon about to teleport in, bring out the chainsaw and walk up to the spawn point and let her rip!!!! it basically destroys the monster instantly

A secret I missed the first time through was in one of the early Alpha Labs levels (probably the first)... there's a large stockpile of shotgun shells and other ammo behind a glass wall, which can only be opened via a tiny switch on a blue pillar nearby.

Get 25k points in super turkey pucher 3 and you'll get a new e-mail telling you that UAC is withdrawing days off your vacation for spending your time playing games or something along those lines. :)

The missiles are easy to dodge, as long as you're moving forward and strafing to one side. Even in a fairly small hallway you can just strafe on up to him and gun him down with little trouble.
