Displacement map jitter problem

HI....

While rendering a ground with displacement map.. i get a jittery feel... the displacement map is given to the ground to give rough feel.. but it jitters when the camera moves.. any solution please... help...it was rendered in mental ray with final gathering on and Maya sun....
 
Having trouble with floating point precision? Does the same problem occur if you put the camera near the origin?
 
I don't know, but it very well might if they use 32bit floats for the computations and you're zooming in on any detail and the world is relatively large.
Could be something completely different though. I haven't worked much with Maya so I have no experience with such issues there, but I know floating point precision can create nasty issues in large scale games.
