Dark Sector is back

Haha, about a month ago I was wondering where the heck Dark Sector was. :LOL:

I had gone back and looked at those trailers again, and decided I still liked something about them.

But now I have to remember they said they were changing the direction of the game. At the moment: "Meh..."
 
whoa... it's like a threesome between Assassin's Creed, Gears of War, and Splinter Cell.
 
wasn't this game going to be about space marines :D , seems they took an entirely new direction, probably for the best
 
Wow, these screen shots beg a lot of questions. Such as: why the change in environment/atmosphere, the change in the overall look of the "battle suit", and the clear change in the game engine.

I for one liked the old style from the trailers, it reminded me of all the anime shows/movies from the 80s & 90s. It seems that the suit is no longer robotic and more organic in its interaction with the users body. Also it seems that it is no longer a full body suit at all and more symbiotic like Venom or Carnage.

The whole location of the game change since then also. The trailers made it a point to say that this game would take place in "deep space", hence the term "Dark Sector". Now it seems to have been relocated to a small town/hospital.

The graphics engine clearly changed, maybe they forgone there own in-house engine for a more advanced 3rd party one. Its definitely looks to me that its on the graphical scale of Oblivion and probably a little better.
 
Where's the very intriguing/interesting video game I saw last E3 ?
Crap, not the least interested in that, I want spaceships and stuff... :(
 
Looks like they saw what everyone else was doing a couple of years ago and thought "Crap! We'd better do something more like that!", not realising that in the intervening few years "that" would become old hat and we'd be ready to see something more different and unusual.

For crying out loud! Why the change? I absolutely loved the original space-themed technical trailer with its immersing sense of being there .. spy kind of :)

Now it looks like another crappy crap crap :(

Gimme back my space-spy-adventure! *keeps his dear 720p video of real dark sector* ...
 
So, Digital Extreme looked for a publisher with their space infiltration game got nothing (the "success" of Pariah, both critically and foremost sale wise not helping them much, I guess), so in last recourse they decided to make a Resident Evil 4-like in order to found a publisher, but interestingly enough they kept the name, probably because it had some buzz going on around it, being one of the first "next-gen" title presented and all...

Hmm, to say the least, the game isn't off to a great start, as far as the development conditions are concerned. Let's hope thet these troubles won't affect the quality of the final game.

Also, something worth of note (well, not really, but hey...), the alt text over the PS3 logo on Dark Sector website is spelling "PlaySatation 3".

Ok, so it is another resident evil clone then? Bye bye sci-fi goodness. Though it does look a little better than the previous engine?
