Well it was kind of fun that you bringed thiat up, I mean almost every game has something that´s unreal. for example The Metal Gears Solid games, I mean how can you sneak past your enemys with a box on your head, now thats something we can disscus in a other thread, so bringing that Crysis thing up is a little bit unecessary.
BTW im not angry, just want to clarify. Check out Cryengine 2 video it´s amaziiiiiiiiing!

Well it just seems to churlish to pick holes in such a way for something that is a very impressive bit of gameplay. You're kind of implying it's a failure because your character doesn't get knocked over or get dust in his eyes when you get this spectacular nuke explosion set piece. Your character doesn't blink either, but that doesn't negate the rest of a great looking game.

No, he doesn't get knocked over for gameplay reasons - so what?

Option 4: We don't care because it's ZOMG awesome !

I'm a believer now - Crysis is going to sell a shitload of new hardware. I need to hurry up and finish all my "old" games quick cause they're going to start looking real ugly, real fast the day I see Crysis in action.

It really is amazing, those people at Crytek are insane. Looking at what is ahead and what will be released around the time of Crysis I can't help but be in pure awe of just how far ahead they will be. That will be two games now that Crytek has released that were/are/going to be leaps and bounds ahead of others at the time.

Heh, let's see the PS3 or Xbox360 do that

PC GPU's have had the power to do so much more for so long. I'm really glad that Crytek is stepping up yet again.

I was about to buy a 8800GTX or a 2900XTX, but seeing how this game will rock, and knowing that it won't be released until at least September, might as well just wait for the G90.

I want to experience this masterpiece in the best possible way!

 That nuke explosion was mainly physics based and i dout PS3s Cell processor would have problems with it TBH.

Yeah very true, but I doubt RSX could keep up with that level of detail even at 720p. I'll be happy to be proven wrong though!

Bouncing you need to mellow out. I'm not attacking this game - or picking holes. I'm sorry I made the original comment, I didn't think anyone would perceive it as an 'attack' on the game. Afterall, why would they?

All I can say is you'd hate watching TV with me, because I make these sorts of comments about everything. Doesn't mean I don't enjoy the experience for its entertainment value.

Yes but Snake *can't* survive a nuclear explosion - it's just that he does. Believe me, my standards for reality don't change based on the game or platform.

So you don't think someone with a 7800 GTX will be able to experience that?

Crysis is targetting 7800 GTX/X1800 XT level performance. The consoles have equivalent GPUs. Maybe if you have an 8800, things will look significantly better, but that only applies to a tiny proportion of Crysis' userbase anyway.

Considering that video was most likely done with the highest graphics options (read: DirectX 10) then I doubt a 7800GTX/X1800XTX could even do it close to the same performance levels. When you target a certain card you're also going to build up and beyond it, especially if you're also going to be selling your engine out and all of its nice technologies as well.

By "that" if you mean Crysis at maximum quality then no. I very much doubt Crysis is targeting 7800GTX class hardware considering the multitude of options on the market that are faster than that card and the fact that it does not support DX10. As a minimum spec maybe but certainly not for demo hardware. My laptop GPU is faster than a 7800GTX for example and I don't think I'll be playing Crysis on it :)
