That shot of Prophet looked amazing when I saw it on Gametrailers. Absolutely fucking amazing. Must note that it was a PC shot though.

The deferred rendering part and Prophet scene really wowed me but I wasn't as impressed by the rest as I hoped tbh. The destruction are nice though one would speculate to what extent for an actual game level. It's still an excellent looking game by any means but maybe the city isn't the best scene to describe cryengine 3's full potential.

Good example of how an engine is only a tool for artistic vision. The more features you build into it, the more flexible it can become. Graphical realism has just become a measuring stick for graphics quality. Another good example for using an engine to push a specific art style to it's limits is Zenoclash. I consider it to be the most impressive Source engine game to date. It looks amazing in motion and incredibly convincing despite the unusual proportioning of characters and even weirder setting.

A little birdie told me we'll be getting a Crysis 2 blowout of some sort in "early April".

From where do we know they are using it? Edge could be wrong, like PhillB said.
But If they are using it, then meh... I'm with MfA on this. Totally unnecessary, unless you want to please the console crowd. Oh wait...
