    A 5950U is 475/475, no? Considering 8x0 @ 475MHz, it should whup a 9700's 8x1 @ 325MHz.

    A 9800XT can compete with a 5950U because the core is a lot closer: 412MHz vs. 475MHz.

I do NOT buy from places that keep sloppy websites, I just don't trust 'em with my order if they can't keep their site straight!

My the sun never set on NewEgg...

    Not in my opinion. A 6800GT has 43% more fillrate than a 6800nu. A 128MB 6800 costs US$299, and a 256MB 6800GT costs US$399. 128MB more ram has got to cost a lot, so it won't be less than US$349.

Now, who wouldn't spend 14% more for 43% more fillrate?

BTW, I mentioned this in another thread, but it seems more fitting here.

fillrate isn't the only thing . I actually don't think it matters all that much in this game.

Surely if it was the x800xt pe would be leading with 8320.

So i would think the 6800nu would perform closely to the 6800gt .

Any chance to test it with a good old Geforce 256 (DDR 64MB)? :)

Actually i think GF DDR64 was not really a common one... it was introduced pretty late compared to the original GF and it couldn´t really compare to the GF2 so it was never a big hit... i think the 32DDR flavour was the most common, but i might be wrong

    Hello

I can just see this coming.

If Kyle says the 6800nu is a good choice for Doom 3 there will not be a single one of these cards available for me to buy. These will be sold out in like 19 seconds.

It is the only 6800-series card available, the gt and ultra are back-ordered.

    That sucks !

AFAIK there was no 64 MB version of the "standard" Geforce 256 (SDR) and the DOOM 3 required at least 64 MB video ram. So the slowest videocard that can "run" the game without stressing the AGP bus in low quality is the Geforce 256 DDR 64MB.

Newegg doesn't ship to Canada, and Atic is a good Canadian Vendor...they usually have stock while others don't.
