I understand (I think that is basically what Marty told me). Maybe do a separate article based on the info/data provided in the Hardware Guide...?

I'm sure you won't, and won't even mind it if we don't reference your guide. :)  <joking>

BTW, did id provide you with a single or double bed in their office?

    Re: 6800SLI

Let's think for a second if a vendor like Alienware was able to provide such an SLI rig, and the performance proved to be as good as they said (up to +100% at 1600x1200).

The effect on the sales of Alienware's SLI-equipped PC's following Doom 3's release would be incredible. It's too bad this technology is only coming in Q4 2004.

    Re: 6800SLI

Then again, maybe we won't NEED SLI or Aleinware in order to do 1600x1200...

Better be careful, an optimist might take this as a hint to the existence of a PowerVR Series 5 card...

    Re: 6800SLI

Since in your HardOCP Doom3 benchmarks, you've already shown that a P4 3.6 & 6800Ultra can play Doom3 well, I can only assume you are talking about running it even faster at 1600x1200

    My best guess is this:

    P4 3.40 extreme edition
    +
    6800 ultra extreme
(John Carmack' games usually played faster on Intel CPU's in the past)

Although this may change with Athlon 64 !!!

    Athlon 64 3800+
    +
    6800ultra extreme

we'll see later this week !!

    Thanks,

    François

Please list what AF optimizations are enabled for each card. (texture stages, tri-opts etc) Thanks!

There is an ABit Nf7-S which will offer a comparison and there is a 2500+ file which suggests a Barton 2500 (desktop or mobile, who cares).

There is also a Nf7-S/3200+ folder.
