I didn't test yet if there was any other impact in games.
Didn't even try advanced before, as everyone seems to state, that it degrades quality.

    Thanks for the info.
But why does 3D-Preview change anyway?

I read reports that with 6.7, using PowerDVD7 gives H.264 hardware decoding working ...
    anyone who wants to check?

I tried that yesterday with a slightly older drivers, and the only thing that even remotely caused those type of artifacts was changing the "Mipmap Detail Level". I couldn't find any changes based on the AI setting.

    strange...
I could reproduce this everytime I tried.

Testing GuildWars did indeed show no difference in IQ though.
So these 2 shots are all I have. Probably a bug?

CatAI advanced mode causes some visual artifacts with games using Reality Engine. For example, the static shadow maps in Cell Factor will flicker in and out. But Artificial Studios has supposedly relayed that info to you guys at ATI already.

    Thanks.
Maybe you could post later on if it was a bug or whatever.

I could reproduce this for XP32 and XP64 with Cat 6.7, not changing anything but Cat. AI.
It won't show any difference with AF enabled though.

    No "Chuck" for 6.7: http://www.elitebastards.com/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=98&Itemid=29

Now that's something to conjure with. . .

Translation: "We don't have enough people to work on this at the moment. Wait until Vista is done."

Interesting read. Particularly if you combine it with the promise to have it by October. That might fit with the idea that MS, when last heard, was planning to RTM Vista for OEM machines in November, IIRC.

Tho I haven't taken that to the bank either.

Bah! That was about profiles. This is getting to the point of "there will be no real work done on ATI drivers until Vista ships. Then we'll put a billion things in all at once again, huzzah!"

Well, I tried two titles that didn't have official profiles -- all I did was change the Cat AI setting to advanced. With the Cat AI Standard setting it was a bit less than one card.

The demo: Call of Juarez, and received about a 40 percent increase with HDR! 34 to 48 frames!

And the game, Empire Earth 2: Art of Supremecy, and received a 30 percent increase with x6 maxed. 38-50 frames!
