Reference 6950. I originally posted I was using 11.4a hotfix, but that was a typo, I'm using the 11.5a hotfix.

I'm using the 11.5a hotfix. That's probably a bit newer than the 11.5

I got it today via the amd autoupdater strange it offered me 11.5 not 11.5a
it also installed the driver without removing the previous one

Autoupdater won't do beta or hotfixes, only the fully qualified WHQL stuff I believe.

I'm on 11.5a and can see extra option in CCC. Of course it's grayed out.

So far I'm happy with 11.5a as nothing unusual is happening and everything plays as good or even better than on 11.4.

Ok decided to fully uninstall 11.5 and install 11.5a
    still no steadyvideo section (win7 x64 6950)

ps: the uninstall program leaves behind over 120mb of files (basically everything)
Dave can you give the dude who created this a big pay rise, this is obviously a man who is at the top of his game...

    I've just installed over 11.4d 11.5 and then 11.5a.
Since Cat 10.6(? or 7) on my W7 setup I never uninstalled AMD drivers, just installed never iterations of finals or betas. Works like a charm for me

This keeps you from overloading.the slower chips with too much post processing in high Res video.

Is it because of the size of the download package or because you don't want the CCC and other stuff? If the latter, you can easily de-select it in the custom installation menu.

I guess I got the standard 11.5 because I ran the autoupdater (which worked pretty well except for downloading the entire driver package twice over after I declined the UAC request the first time (I had stuff I had to finish before installing and as you all know the UAC window blocks all input exept to answer that request, which is why I had to decline.)

It's not a problem for me, but if I had a slower, and/or especially, a metered connection I'd be a bit pissed if I'd have to download the entire driver package all over again. 120MB isn't exactly peanuts even in this day and age. Maybe AMD ought to fix that issue...

One thing I've noticed with IE9 is the text cursor wonks out at times and doesn't update. Becomes hella difficult to edit what you've written when you've no idea where in the body of the text you are! Has anyone else seen this?

Oh and BTW... The screwy fan control is still in this driver. My fans actually spin DOWN when starting a 3D application - and then promptly spin up even more of course. This seems very wrong IMO.
