Can silica gel scratches phone screen?

I stupidly dunked my phone into silica gel, and sealed it, and didn't test it first whether it would scratch the screen or not.

Wondering whether I will be welcomed with a phone full of scratches or not

IIRC, silica gel is ~6 mohs hardness scale. I don't remember where I read that, but Google pops up the same number from some scientific papers.

That's pretty hard, but modern hardened glass should be harder (though you don't say what phone you have) and those pellets tend to be quite smooth rather than angular or grainy.

I think you'll be perfectly fine if you just put it in there (what, to try to dry out moisture damage?) but if you sit on a bag containing your phone and a bunch of silica while wiggling our behind; then who knows...

okay, got it out of the bag and it is indeed full of scratches. but very thin. practically invisible when in use
