Finally hit 100k. It took me much more time than I thought it would but things should get better when my work starts again next month.

:) Most of the points are from my home computer which has a Q6600. Also I have one Athlon 64 3400+ and one (just added) Opteron 146 doing some folding. So nothing fancy but quite many cores. Hopefully next week I can add couple more cores to the list...

I thought PC CPU's folded a lot slower than Cell and GPU's?

There are different kinds of work units, some that scale better to GPU, some that scale better to Cell, and some that scale better to CPU.

My Core2Quad E6600 has managed a grand total of 201 WU's since I bought it which was the same day as I got my PS3 which is now on 461 WU's.

My X1900+ is on 122 WU's and my P4 3.2Ghz is on 194 WU's. All of these started folding on the same day!

I now have a grand total of 3,830 Wu's under my belt and a score of 467,135.

    A couple more PS3's wouldn't go amiss!!!

Presumably they haven't all been folding full time since the P4 is pretty much at the same level as the QE6600! Not to mention being ahead of the GPU!

I joined almost a year ago, so I guess it's time to introduce myself. I've been a lurker for about 3 years, so this is my way of giving something back I guess. I got a lowly P4 2,4c @ 3,2 GHz, and the last couple of weeks a Core2Duo T7100 laptop, and last but not least, a PS3 thats been on 24/7 since launch day. Unfortunately I've had the "No Network Error"-problem up until v1.2 was released, so it only managed to connect automatically probably only about 30 times of those 300+ pre v1.2 work units. The rest of the time I had to manually exit, then restart the client to upload the work units. So I guess it probably could've completed at least about 500 work units (instead of 415) otherwise. But hey, who's counting? ;).

    I see...

Looks like you call them, and they come! I haven't been around for a few months, and when I come back, everything has changed (and I lost my throne, to boot).

I've been debating between getting 2 or 4 cores on my next CPU (or 3!), I guess that choice is now settled. Just give me a couple months until my favorite underdog and, of late, underdelivering company starts selling the 4-core CPU I plan to buy...

Just thought I'd drop by and stir up a little trouble - I mean, friendly competition. You are all weak. Little girly men. Do you even have any power folders? You should all re-config and switch over to team 64 (and change to the username techguy while you're at it), then you can feel like you're part of something.
