DaysPerWU is the number of days it took for a Celeron 500 to do a test run on that project. So the points are roughly proportional to the number of FLOPs contributed. (Assuming that the work done is mostly FLOPs.)

Another thing if you have a slow CPU, and only running it a short time each day, is that a WU can time out. The timeout is calculated as 6 times the time it takes for a Celeron 500 to do a non stop test run on the project (and then doing some rounding I assume). If you haven't returned the WU in time, it will be thrown away, and won't contribute to any scientific results. (They are nice and still give you the credits though.)

Check the credits and deadline for your project here: http://folding.stanford.edu/psummary.html.

My first WU will be finished in a few months at the rate it is going at (weird considering I am running a 2100+ at 2700+ speeds).

Maybe the filename will give you an indication. To configure for the next files see the Tahir response.

My guess is that my P3-S 1.13Ghz takes 48 hours to finish a WU, but it varies with the complexity of the WU and the CPU speed.

Are you running any other background processes that can use all CPU? (Like SETI.) Have you tried to set core prority to "slightly higher"?

    Deepak:
My last took almost 40hrs, but that was a 70p WU. A more normal 24p WU seems to take ~15hrs. On average I've got ~1.5 points per working hour. (XP 2400+)

Cool, current fold is the first one where I actually can see something happening. All the others where already rather folded. It was impossible to see what happend from frame to frame, because I couldn't locate the atoms from frame to frame. But the current started as one rather straight line, and now I can see how it's a bit curled up in the ends. ...or so I think.

One nice feature to have would be if you could see the result of the simulation at the end of the WU. Just a 15 sec movie, or whatever length it would need to be to make it "exciting".

Bah, you multi CPU cheater! Isn't there a law against bigamy. :D
    Just kidding. Good job.

But maybe you should look at Rasmoo's personal log before you start to gloat. He's got 3-4 times Beyond3D_Team's score, just by himself. (Rasmoo is hereby ordered to reveal himself. :))

    Btw:
Johan_F, who are you. I noticed your last team. Do you by any chance live in Ryd? Do I have a fellow geek in the neighbourhood?

Okay, I'm confused. I installed the client, it's in my systray, it seems to be doing work, it's currently at 520/600.

I've got the right team number entered, but it doesn't show me under the beyond3d team. I'm using Saem as my name, BTW.

Does my comp have to finish a WU before it shows up?

You have to complete the WU before you appear in the team statistics page.

You can verify your fahlog.txt (log file) in the folding directory.
It should have your User Name, User ID, Team number, etc...
