1,000 points now in the rear view mirror. :D

The 2.4C arrives tomorrow. Hopefully by late Friday it will be cranking away at this. I plan to give it a couple weeks to get familiar with it and then see if it will tweak up to 3.0. People have been reporting good results doing that with that cpu and the mobo I bought. But I won't push it too hard if the temp starts going up significantly.

This will be my first serious effort at oc'ing since I cranked a celly 533A to 800. That one is still running as my wife's machine 4 years later, so I guess it worked out.

    NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

And I just missed the 3k mark with the last unit, so there's a big risk that he reaches 3k before me. I hoped that I at least could get there first, before biting the dust. OK, it's not over yet, there's still a chance for that if the current one isn't too big. (I'm not at home now, so I can't see.)

You'll still be the first single processor in the team to reach 3,000 points :) .

On a separate issue I've broken the 2,000 point barrier 8) , though Joe is pretty close behind and I don't know how much longer I can keep him at bay...

Hmmm.. I wonder if Hyperthreading helps wrt this application. Anyone have a P4 that can test this? I will by tomorrow but I'd like to know if someone already has done so.

I didn't do any testing one way or the other, but my P4 has HT enabled.

You can actually run two instances of FAH on a HT P4. (Don't know how much extra this will get you, but it would be interesting for someone to test).

From the FAQ Deepak posted earlier:

    Thanks.

Hmm. It just shows how small our team is.
    It's just 5 XP2000+, 1 XP1800+ and a 1 TB850.
Not even all of them are folding full time.

Yeah, our team is small compared to some others but we have soul

I got a second processor (Celeron 1Ghz) to fold 24/7 for while.
