Just to let you all know, there will be a change in the ownership of the domainname beyond3d.com. The transfer can happen any moment, so don't panic when you can't reach the site.

    Current status:
"The Administrative Contact at the current registrar for the domain name has authorized the transfer. The domain name has been submitted to the Registry for transfer. A response from the Registry has not been received (this can take 5 to 7 days after the request is submitted to the Registry)."

Three questions: why the change, who's current owner and who will be the next?

    Thanks.

    Convoluted.

Basically, one of our old (shit) hosts ended up being the domain holder, despite it being our domain registered with netsol. Now its going back to netsol, but under marco's name. Basically its putting the control of the domain back into our hands.

So you're not transfering to .co.uk or .net then?

No, no, we're staying with the domain we have - its too well known. I had .net registered for a while but never actually bothered to map it to this server.

Don't you set up the new DNS before taking down the old one ?

In that case no users will notice anything, since the only thing that changes is source of authority (SOA)

    btw. netsol are pure evil

    Cheers

In this instance the DNS isn't changing, just who manages the domain name. Hopefully there will be no interuption, but that might not be the case.

yup, don't forget: netsol == verisign!
no nameserver changes can be made during registrar transfer, so there won't be any interruption.
however, i can't suggest enough to move to some other place that netsol... i.e godaddy.com, opensrs.net, enom.com..

You want to post the IP for those people who are far too lazy to look it up? :)
