Best way to stream audio to my stereo?

I'm looking for a good way to stream audio from my macbook to my stereo. I looked at Airport Express, but it seems to only do music. I want to stream all of my audio. It just saves me having another cable to plug in. There are some bluetooth 2.0/2.1 + EDR devices out there, and some wireless network solutions, but I don't know much about any of them and which are good or bad.

Why not just a good old cable? How much distance are we talking about?

Price is relative, but this seems a bit of a heavy price to pay for convenience.

I haven't done pricehunting though. This seems to fit what you want instead of the other devices providing a DLNA-like experience (which covers only music like you said)

I may go the cable route. It really depends on the price of getting a good streaming setup. It isn't really far or anything. At my desk I have my PC, 360, PS3 and now my macbook. I have an RCA switch that all of the audio is plugged into because my receiver is on the other side of the room, but now it is full. My desk is also a mess of cables already. I guess one more wouldn't hurt. It would be nice to sit on my sofa with my laptop and play audio through my stereo speakers as well.

I actually use this at work to stream music from my desktop to a Bluetooth stereo headset. I've found that it has a range in practical use of about 100 ft there through multiple obstructions.

This can work in the opposite manner also and receive a Bluetooth signal and output it through it's RCA outputs so seems to cover what you need as long as the range is sufficient.
