Bandwidth of PCMCIA Type 2

Well, i almost sure screwed up the spelling, but i think you know what i'm speaking about.
I want to know its bandwidth because i've you seen an PCMCIA to USB 2.0 adaptor, and USB 2.0 has 420MB/s bandwith (i think) and i thought PCMCIA had a much lower bandwith. So, i am right and the adapter is not "really" USB 2.0? or is PCMCIA that fast?

USB 2.0 has 480Mbit/s bandwith, that's 60Mbyte/s. Old type 1 PCMCIA had a bandwith of only a few MB/s (don't recal exact #), but AFAIK the newer type II & III have the same bandwith as PCI, 133Mbyte/s.

If PCMCIA is faster, then i have a question, why external CDRW that have 24x burning speed support USB 2.0 and Firewire but not PCMCIA if ALL laptops have PCMCIA but most of them don't have Firewire neither USB 2.0
