Does the official driver have a ME2 profile or allow forcing AA without exe renaming? From what I can see it doesn't. So AMD failed on yet another new game.

Don't bother.. he lives in an alternate universe where NV doesn't have game profiles ahead of game launches, $250+ is a "midrange" card and his years are only 4 months long (each season = 1 month)..

What's annoying is AMD are advertising ME2 on their site and yet didn't even bother to support it properly on release. It will likely be months before they have a driver release that does and everyone will be done with the game by then anyway.

Pipe down with the ad-hominems please. Also, an increase in the general quality of discussion wouldn't hurt, unless you gents feel this thread has run its course and should be locked?

    Was the wrong driver uploaded?

The official 10.1's aren't even WHQLed for 64 bit OS's

Nope, they didn't have time to add it in due to the holiday vacations making everything late. It'll be in next month, which should release in the middle of the month again like usual.

This is weird, because if you look in the Device Manager you'll see that they are actually WHQLed. Actually, my GTX 285 with 196.34 beta driver (which is not WHQLed) is shown on dxdiag as WHQLed. Maybe it's a bug of dxdiag?

Is there a reason the D3D driver is reported as atiu9pag.dll instead of (the normal?) atiumdag.dll? Windows 7 64.

I just checked a second ago, it doesn't work... Its nice that they are going to release it in a week or two, but it is a single player game that has a very limited play though. I am using a cracked exe on my legal game because thats the only way to get AA.

Its not like they didn't have time, they had plenty of time considering this is a well advertised game It shouldn't be under "well, it was just released, and we couldn't get to it yet", that should only be for indy titles not super major titles from EA like Mass Effect 2. If they do get a fix out for the AA it will only be after everyone has played it and when reviewers start to use it.

edit: ps Eastmen the game came out on the 26th, it was unlocked at 10 am.

atiu9pag.dll and atiu9p64.dll show up as "Advanced Micro Devices, Inc PowerXpress Vista User Mode Driver" (8.14.01.6091). I would think it would show atiumdag.dll (32bit) or atiumd64.dll as those are the ATI Technologies Inc. Radeon DirectX Universal Drivers.

How long have ATI (and others. NV, Intel etc) shipped DirectX 11 specific drivers.. I noticed that ATI has 4 drivers (2 for 32bit, 2 for 64), aticfx**.dll I would assume are Crossfire specific drivers for DX11 and atidxx**.dll would appear as DirectX 11 drivers. haven't actually peered into an ATI driver release in some while so 1st time I'm noticing these additions.

I don't know , waiting on a website to benchmark the performance.

You have a link to a site testing mass effect 2 with the cat 10.1s ?

I've had to roll back to the 9.12s, the 10.1s wouldn't allow my monitor to go into standby, the screen would blank out but it wouldn't actually switch to standby.

The latest Cat 10.2 RC leak actually fixes this issue.

Are you running more than one panel or a 120hz panel?
