As for new benchmarks...how about Incoming Forces by Rage

Though I'm not too sure if it supports pixel and vertex shaders...I've seen it as I downloaded it on my friends broadband to play out/test out the xp gf3 ti 200 rig I built for him...it looked sorta nice...though I don't know what necessary vid card is...
Incoming by Rage back in the day was a widely used benchmark as was expendable when it came out.
 
Incoming Forces uses both Vertex and Pixel Shaders.
Vertex Shaders are used for detail mapping, lighting, particle systems, and landscape rendering. Pixel Shaders are used for water effects, which use real world dynamic bump mapped reflections.

We used this game in our booth at GDC (Game Developers Conference) and plan to use it at upcoming shows as well.
