I know when they usually release them. I was simply telling him the month isnt even close to being over, and to relax.

Remember all the people who said, "I will never upgrade to Windows XP because it's slower for games than Windows 98?" You know how Microsoft is pushing Vista as a home entertainment and gaming plattform just as much as they're hyping improved security? Couple that with a new driver model, and yeah, I'm thinking 98% of their efforts are on Vista.

Does it? Completely? I've never been quite clear on how far the scope overlap is on that.

For instance. . .some new CrossFire profiles would or would not have to go thru WHQL?

I was under the assumption that the complete driver has to be tested. Although I never thought about whether profiles would count as part of the driver or not (I am guessing technically not, but I do not believe Ati changes much, if anything, after WHQL).

Either way I would say the WHQL driver that was leaked today will most likely be the driver on Ati's website tomorrow (assuming Dave is right about tomorrow).

They do have some CF bugs to fix and Chuck`s code to integrate into the codebase, so yes there`s still a lot of work with Cats(and no, what I mentioned isn`t in the 6.5s). CF is still not as clean as I`d like it to be so for me monthly driver releases are peachy:)

my best gusee is the 6.5 driver has been ok for weeks, the CCC is what they are working on. Its going to be a good CF ccc set...? The CCC does not need WHQL.
