Any other GMail user experiencing spam today?

Until today my GMail account has been spam free but I just checked and there were around ~25 spam messages in my Inbox. Also there were over 300 new messages in my spam-folder, all received today! I'm wondering if it's only me or are other gmail users having the same problem?

today isn't particularly worse than any other day, 90% of the email that comes into my inbox is spam or advertisement crap i signed up for.....thats exactly what i created the account for, it's my public email used to register at sites and stuff, my personal comcast.net address is for family and friends only and it rarely ever gets spammed

Yeah, I'm using gmail for the same reason. Like I mentioned, it's been spam free until today (spam filter gets almost all the crap) so it was a suprise to see the around 25 spam messages in my inbox.

What have you signed up for recently? I would think that has much more to do with your spam issues than a Gmail one. Mine got the same amount as usual.

When did you open the account? I never used to get any before, then my Spam folder started getting loads...

I love Gmail because it filters very well, much better than even my work email, which is supposed to be oh so good at stopping spam... I must get one or two spam emails in my gmail inbox a week, sometimes less.

Don't really care about my Spam folder to be honest, i only empty it when there are thousands of emails in there, just because they're so many it freaks me out...

well gmail has never had either a false positive or false negative with spam, so I'm happy.

But then again I only get ~3-4 a day. No particular surge today.

I can't think of anything new where I've recently signed. Maybe some other forum got their database leaked or I'm just unlucky.

Todays' statistics (last 14 hours): ~20 new spam messages in my inbox and ~175 new in spam folder.

I opened my account June 2004 so it's rather old.

Argh! I just realized that this Monday I used 123greetings.com to send an e-postcard. I've used it before many times but this time the pages contained much more adverts than before. Maybe they are causing the spam.

Ahha! I got it. It's not my gmail-account but my domain which is getting spammed. I've redirected my mail from that domain to go to gmail. The funny thing is that my domain got old just this week and I didn't renew it. Pages are still working but I suppose the provider disabled their spam filter.
