The complexity of designing the chip computionally grows exponentionally I assume. Therefore 10 times more computational power solves the same task only 2 times faster.

Doing the same task will be 10 times faster with 10 times more computational power. But doubling the complexity of the task will require far more than two times the processing power to accomplish it in the same time.
