Click on the picture to see where I got it...I don't think they know what's in it either, but PCGamer sent them the cover.

I'm not sure either, but it looks like the D3 engine is going to get nicknamed the pointy-headed engine at this rate. :?

And the strange thing is the artist could have gone ahead and put a few more polygons on top of the heads of the models without practically any frame loss (as one person has already done for Doom 3).

I have great hopes for Quake4. The guys there that I talked to (Gil Gribb, John Scott, Rick Johnson) way back during SOF's (one of the very first DX7 TnL games out back then, if not the first) debut were all very nice folks who knows exactly what they want out of their game(s) and their company.

Hell, Gil (he used to be their Technology Director or something like that) even offered to help with recommendations when I'd said back then that I hope to join a IHV!

Ah... the memories of exchanging emails with Raven about the value of static TnL, SOF's "Ghoul" system, "need to be friendly with IHVs",....

    Er, am I going OT?

Hopefully, Quake IV will have a railgun.

    That is all.

looking forward to a fun mindless shooter with great graphix. JVD no need to crap a thread again. Yes Raven is very good. Unless you "Role Play".

whats with all the JK II / academy etc hating? I enjoyed everyone of the jedi knight series & thought academy was definetly the best of the bunch.

For the most part raven makes good games not great but usually very enjoyable. Thats what I am looking for, but even though I usually like raven games I am not sure about quake 4 I haven't liked any of the games in the series except the original so I dont have high hopes.

Although that is very nice and detailed there isn't a lot of point getting excited over screenshots taken in maya of the high poly reference models which you won't see in game.

What do I care, I just found a pic and posted it.

Is this game made with Doom3 engine or wut? (boomtown.net says so, but I'm not sure if that's true.)

I dont mind the plastic skin look so much as I do the plastic skin + high gloss veneer look. Ugh. How could crytek have missed that?
