AMD working on memory modules that could do 1gighertz???

has anyone heard any rumors about AMD reserachers working on a new type of memory module that could do 1gighertz..or is it just me???but i doubt it would be true , don't really think they would step out and try to create a new memory standard for the industry..not their style.

btw anyone here could spill any other interesting rumors???

It certainly wouldn't be a main memory. They don't have the resources. Could be some type of cache. Where did you hear this rumor?
