I have spent sometime using Code XL beta and it is a quite useful tool even for CPU-only programming. AMD was really missing such a tool: before I was using a NVIDIA card just to run their OpenCL profiling tool
I understand your complains about VC++ and C++ AMP but, as Linux user, it isn't a issue for me
