Oh, cool, I just noticed the release notes mention that you can enable MSAA and SSAA for Diablo 3 now through the CP with the profiles installed. I may have to upgrade my drivers. :)

Hmm. Had two BSODs after upgrading to the latest BIOS and catalyst. One of those useless ntkernel IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL ones that could mean pretty much anything. So now i have no idea what is causing it. Maybe the new bios, or the fact that i lost my OC settings and am running stock now, maybe 12.7b drivers or maybe the problem was there even before the upgrade and this is just a conicidence. Atleast it doesnt freeze anymore when zerocore kicks in.

Time to upgrade all the chipset drivers and run memtest. Fun Fun Fun.

I've upgraded my i5-520m + 5650m laptop, the 3930k + 7970OC gaming rig, and the 3570k + 7750 HTPC server all to 12.6 without issue on any of them. The laptop was running an 11.x version and has experienced a decent bump in Skyrim performance; the gaming rig doesn't seem to be affected in a visible way for the games I've been playing, and the HTPC still has zero-core working and DXVA (which are pretty much the only two concerns on that box.)

I've experienced no issues sleeping any of the boxes, or BSOD's, or generally speaking any other type of instability. The laptop and desktop are Win7 x64 SP1, the HTPC is Server 2008R2.

Interesting. A friend just pointed this out to me...

A sign of greater involvement with game developement? That game isn't even out for another 2 months.

The best time to fix issues with any game is preferably before it ships out to customers instead of a month later. Maybe AMD have finally figured that out.

Frankly it is the exception rather than the norm that titles are not inhouse beforehand and they are checked for their profile characteristics. However, it is not at all uncommon for titles to make significantly enough rendering changes from the dev builds to the release build to completely throw that profile out of whack - additionally with the increasing prevelence of digital distribution gone are the days of shooting for a stable "gold" build 2-4 weeks before release and it is increasingly common for "day 1 patches".

Knowing publishers nowadays, have they turned it into a third person corridor shooter with cutscenes and QTE's?

    Yes.

Well, actually there are two competing remakes of this game, one of them is true to the original, one of them is pretty much what you've described. I can't remember which is which.

Edit: I think XCOM is the FPS/TPS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XCOM) and XCOM Enemy Unknown is the tactical, turn-based one (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XCOM:_Enemy_Unknown).

It will be interesting to see which one is most successful.

It seems, that the links are fine, but it isn't possible to download any driver from www2.ati.com at this moment...

I wonder if this release fixes the problems with 12.4 and the 4000 series in some games. I will try it on my 3850 when I get a chance.

You want 9.11 so you can play Flash in hardware. I have a notebook with a 3450 and found that out with a lot of web searching. I suppose if you game then the latest drivers could be worthwhile though. But the 34x0 is so slow at any sort of modern gaming...

Unfortunately, because AMD does not appear to keep an archive of Mobility drivers, I have been unable to find a working Mobility 9.11 package and have to force install the desktop release. Mobility Modder doesn't work past ~9.3 apparently.

On my 7850 I was having periodic display corruption issues with the 12.7 beta when either just idling or watching videos and plenty of driver stopped responding messages and it would often fail to resume from the S3 power state(or the long idle state I think), giving me just a blank screen, was getting pissed when I decided to try the 12.6 WHQL drivers, the issues disappeared but I have to use ctrl alt del to wake my monitor up now, like my video card isn't turning back on or something till I do so. I presume having to bring up task manager to get my display to turn back on from sleep is not a design feature, so how do I fix that?
I do have a rather shit mobo, Msi 870A-g54, not sure if that has anything to do with it, I have the latest bios, however.

Even though the Beta-page states resolved issues for Windows XP, I cannot find a 12.7 beta that installs under XP - typo?

"Resolved Issues for the Windows® 7, Windows Vista® and Windows XP Operating System

Elder Scrolls: Skyrim- screen flickering when in AMD CrossFire™ mode
Note: This issue was first observed with version 1.6 of Skyrim."
