Has anyone heard anything lately about the PC version of Alan Wake? I remember seeing that in a closed demo either at GDC or E3 awhile ago (supposedly running on R600) and never heard anything since...There was one part when the wind started blowing the leaves around on the road in the middle of a town and it was stunning....Sounds like a cool premise for a game...shame its been off the radar...

They have been keeping some noise; there was an article in the Finnish magazine Pelit about Alan Wake late last year etc. Not that much hype though, not yet anyway. I guess we'll get more of that when the game is closer to release, which should happen sometime next year.

More recently there was a new interview (third part not yet published) and some screenshots. Those were discussed here: New Alan Wake screen shots and interviews.

part of the problem is its been delayed into 2008. Microsoft owns publishing rights too, so its quite possible its going to end up vista only and almost certainly wont be released for PC until the Xbox360 version is out. Really though the main problem is the delay. Who cares about a game a year or more away?

Anyway all been discussed, just use the search for alan wake.

Indeed, we wont see AW at least till 2008.

It could be because of dev schedule.... or others think its simply M$ delaying it until the Vista install base is larger.

There will be another Max Payne, it just won't be developed by Remedy.

Ah....Max Payne....one of my favorite games of all time......That game and Soldier of Fortune accounted for an obscene number of hours in front of a monitor!

Has anyone heard anything on this title lately? This is one game that absolutely blew me away in person...can't wait to see what it looks like after a year or more of polish since then!

Its nice that the interview confirms the game will run well on a dual core CPU and X1900 series GPU at high res with AA. I guess they will scale things up for DX10 GPU's later on. They did say at present the PC and 360 versions were near identical but there seemed to be a hint or two in there that the PC version had yet to be enhanced further.

Yep it is running good on a dual-core CPU and a X1900 GPU at high res and with AA on, great news (but we knew a quad-core was not necessary for good perfomance)! :happy2: :cool2:
