I don't see why this merger would confirm anything of the sort. I've no doubt they've considered console development at blizzard, but rejected it for a variety of reasons (developmental challenges). You have to know that blizzard would love to add a few million more players, I don't see how adding activision to the mix resolves any of the issues.

I think the only reason currently has been that Blizzard simply hasn't been interested. They do PC only, and WoW / Starcraft have been keeping them bizzy more than plenty, making them more than enough money.

Now however, Activision already has the infrastructure and knowhow to do console games, and this is much easier to pull off.

This frightens me for some obscure indefinable reason. I am just not a fan of consolidation I guess.

Any corporation is going to investigate obvious avenues to make more money.

I really don't see how Activision being part of the mix changes anything with regards to the task of porting WoW. If Blizzard had just bought a developer famous for doing PC to console ports that might signify something, but this is a merger of two publishers and from all accounts Blizzard is just going to go on being Blizzard

Mod Helm: Watch the tone folks. This is a thread about Activision and Vivendi, not some Console-PC Infinite Ending Discussion. If you want to discuss that, take it to [strike]a new thread.[/strike] the new sub-thread.

My response was lost in a hail of gunfire! Provided I didn't have a goldfish's memory, I would re-write it :(
