This week i was casually driving home, and just suddenly realized i remembered id seen the cannon designs from the funny "shootmymonkey" stories on beyond3d:

I didnt want to bump the old tread with this piece of errata, but it might be amusing to see the cannons who shoot trough 1 barrel exist. Startrek's Federation ships got a phaser strip, who actually, in the trek lore made by Paramount's design team, is a collection of individual phaser cannons, who reflects the power to 1 spot before shooting it(think its supposed to use something as optics to mirror the beams to 1 beam). It means, the circular black stripe is jammed full of individual cannons who can shoot in any direction, as long as one part of the strip got view to the enemy, the entire strip can hit it.
