ANyone know the performance difference between a P3 550 and a P3 550E? I know that the 550E has 256kb of cache running at the processor speed. I just want to know if there is a real world performance difference.

Well the 550E overclocks better, if that helps any.

Real world, its cache vs. speed... are the applications you use cache hungry?

Even if not, I'd give the overall nudge to the 550E....

Yes, 550E should be faster in pretty much anything except benchmarks specifically written to fit in 512KB cache, but not in 256KB...
Not by much though, probably not really noticeable.
It will also run cooler, and as said will overclock much better. A 550E should do 733Mhz (at 133Mhz FSB of course your board/ram has to handle it) no questions asked, but on the 550 you're lucky if it will do 600.
