    While I agree the Sidewinder wheel is nice, it was also released near-exactly 10 years ago. It doesn't specifically surprise me that they aren't making drivers for it any more...

    Just out of curiosity -- does it simply not work at all, or do the controls work sans force feedback? I'd tend to think the latter, but I could be wrong.

    Ah, gotcha. I'd wager all the controls work, but I'd also bet the force feedback is completely not there.

    Well, I believe I read somewhere that one of the tests is DX10.1?
    I think it's a REALLY good thing that my X3100 will skip that :)
    Might decrease the running time of the benchmark by about a week ;)

    8500GT shouldn't have any problems I'd wager.

    Try it on a 5900XT is what I'd do ... if I had one ;)

    It doesn't happen in a big way with EVERY OS transition. After all the transition from Windows 98 to Windows 98 SE went fairly smoothly. :p

    However the transition from:
    Win 3.11 -> Win95
    Win9x -> Win2k/WinXP
    Win2k -> WinXP
    WinXP -> Vista

    All had notable driver problems and all had orphaned hardware. Going from Win9x -> Win2k/WinXP saw quite a few GUI based printers orphaned for example, as well as even worse driver support nightmares causing instability, crashes, BSOD's, and general inoperability than WinXP -> Vista.

    Actually looking back at that list. Only the Win2k -> WinXP transition orphaned less hardware than the WinXP -> Vista transition.

    Regards,
    SB

    All the usual suspects HDR, PCF, VSM, DOF are there. Some GPU physics too and surprisingly a PhysX focused feature test. Wonder how that's going to go over now that Nvidia owns Ageia.

    Ugh, looks that they have continued the trend in downgrading the free version - it requires an activation key and also looks to be a single benchmark run only!
