It could use DirectCompute 4.0 / 4.1 on some test for example?
And I don't remember people complaining on several 3DMarks using D3D9

Compatibility? I don't get why this should be an issue.

DX11 supports hardware with featuresets ranging from "DX9" to "DX11", unlike DX10.

When does the 3rd quarter end again ? Last day of Sept here.. would think tomorrow is beginning of Q4. Not a whole lot of time left to make time line as stated by 3DMark.. then again it is 3DMark after all.

Yes and no. There are two types of instancing. The first treats an entire draw call as a single instance and it's rendered N times. So tessellation applies to all instances.

The other is GS instancing which comes after the tessellator.

The lack of animation in the foliage is glaring though. Hopefully that's not the case in the full version. The texturing on the Antec jeep looks pretty weak too. Otherwise the lighting and models look pretty good.

I didn't like Vantage much so hopfully this will be an improvement. I thought Vantage looked very poor, especially the human figures.

The somewhat official status on the Futuremark forums:

My speculation: They're running an overclocking competition on their website which ends november 29th. I would expect a countdown banner to replace it near the beginning of december. Releasing any later than maybe 15th of december wouldn't make much sense as they need to be ready to fix any possible initial problems before the christmas holidays. Would make sense, methinks.

I like delays more than 0-day-patches. And i like products were I don't have to be a paying (not payed!) beta tester.
