I searched for a topic but couldn't find one. Well no better moment to make a than now.

Here's the debut gameplay trailer:

I think its just awesome, I am simply flabbergasted...this is how you do an outrageously fast paced action packed TPS the Japanese way !.

ModEdit: Please read the rules on posting images. Or rather, not hotlinking gifs.

weapon morphing.

Supposedly it's leading on PS3 (according to an article on the game in OPM).

If that is PS3 footage they must be doing something truly insane with the engine..

will probably run like ass on PS3...i hope not...but not hopeful
It's completely different with Vanquish. IIRC, Bayonetta was originally gonna be a 360 exclusive. It was developed to the 360's strengths and Sega ported it to the PS3. Vanquish is supposedly leading on PS3.

The slower paced Meta Gears Online was fun.

Too bad Konami's registration system prevented people from playing the game. T_T

Well I may be the biggest Metal Gear fan around here xD & I totally agree with you that MGO was loads of fun. (I quit playing it cause I accidentally deleted the game data & I never bothered to go through the tedious update process again) .But the thing is Vanquish looks to be an action game with the style & flair of a Japanese hack & slash game, while MGS has always been an espionage game.

Looks very interesting with the fast paced Japanese spin on a UE3 style TPS. Excellent graphics as well. We'll see how the final reviews come out though, seems like could be one of those second tier games like Lost Planet 2 that ends up with 6's. For now looks really great though.

Bayonetta is critically acclaimed though. Review scores were high but [strike]sales were low at launch, then picked up.[/strike] sales were okay right ?

Not much is known about Vanquish, I will just wait and see.

Bayonetta was directed by Kamiya (DMC1,Okami), this is Mikami (who directed RE1,RE4,Killer 7)...both have a very different approach & style. I like Mikami's style more cause imo it has the right blend between a Japanese style & western style, compare this to Hideki Kamiya's who has a more anime esque direction.

Suda directed Killer 7; Mikami was just a producer. His games were RE1 (original and remake), Dino Crisis 1, PN 03, God Hand, and now Vanquish. Kamiya has done the "western" thing extremely well with his very first game, RE2, which remains IMO, his best.

God Hand, despite its low budget, did the whole quirky Japanese humour a lot better than Bayonetta and had a fairly deep combat system. Not to mention good music.

One million shipped worldwide isn't really much for two SKU's, but apparently Sega was "satisfied". Go figure.

And yeah, this is lead on PS3 but both versions are done in house:

I didn't buy because I heard it's difficult.

Mikami wanted to make a game he'd play. That cut out people like me and my family. So Sega should have seen it coming. :)

Nonetheless, I saw many great reviews and user impressions about the game.

Well, God Hand has a smallish, rabid fan following and how many people even played P.N.03?

Indeed these two games have the lowest fan base out of any mikami games, even more so for P.N.03, but both of them have been able to garner some sort of cult following.

Its Shinji Mikami his games are always classic & have massive fan following.

His game typically have unintuitive controls and clunky interfaces. They look like something you'd want to play until you start to play them, then you either suffer through it, or quit like a sane person. Vanquish could very well turn out to be another P.N.03.
