Afterburner works just fine for my needs. Quick presets, nice on screen GPU status, very good monitoring. I'm on SSD for my OS so I don't feel it being loaded in the background.
AB had it's issues on few occasions connected to on screen monitoring and BF3 for instance where it caused crashes, but that's thing of the past.

Yes, i have not real preferences ..

    MSI AB:
    - Graphics report ( allways usefull if you dont want check real time )
    - OC features work right ( if not a specific problem happend )
    - With the graphics report, you know immediately what happend when you apply a setting. or can check easely if the voltage and clock really ramp without having the need to get a monitoring open.

    - No ULPS disable automatic

Trixx is simpler but just do the thing you ask it. But you get less real time infos.

The Cat 12.11b driver has been refreshed again to resolve the low clock bug that some were seeing.

Are there any signs they'll solve the problem whereby when you change input to the TV and then back to the PC the sound sometimes cuts out on HDMI?

    i laughed

edit: you are a troll right?

    it is simple.

since 1998 , ATI is a pain in ass for everything about [GL<== trap] LINUX.
right, i played with toy (SGI), but since my youth , ATI has always been late in regards of drivers , support.

    not so far ago, 10 month, i tried AMD graphics card. i use an 5870. a bulldoser for my game (arma2 , X3, FS10 , DCS A10)
dude, i was forced to write a FUCKING shell script , just to be sure, my system doesnt LOCK when i'm watching youtube. a shame isnt it ?
nvidia has always smooth has butter.

i remember , i patched A FUCKING KERNEL to make my fglrx drivers works .
don't ask me more, you know the truth , ATI FUCKING SUCKS IN LINUX SUPPORT. they had always been.

next time i buy a laptop , (my first one), i will be sure it's a nvidia gpu embedded.*or intel

    with linux
ATI is like frozen piece of fish.
NVIDIA is fresh thon with olive oil , plant , lemon , white wine and the italian girl .
    ;)

    bye !

ps: i still have an SGI indy (IP22) , if anyone but me is interested ...

I am thinking here....should i install Catalyst Cap Profiles? I am running single gpu..could do with some profile speed up for games...though could also do without additional bloat?

There's fixes for single users too in some cases, and IIRC the drivers feature CAPs always, the downloadable ones are just newer than the newest drivers

gl33k - I sense that if you had tried to play Rage on your 5870 when the game came out that you would be institutionalized at this time. ;) It sounds like maybe you didn't experience the joy of Bioware OpenGL games on Radeon either. Or Doom3 needing Humus (B3D member) to rewrite a shader for a huge speed up on Radeon. Anything else I'm missing?

They do usually run D3D games and anything Quake3 very nicely though!

Keeping in with the tone and writing style, you need to chill the fuck out, because it's fucking annoying when some fucker comes around fucking writing fuck every three fucking words, not to mention that it's fucked up when one uses foulness of language for no fucking obvious reason. Conveying one's thoughts in a less fucking offensive manner is not that fucking hard. What the fuck?

guys, i was refering to his assertion " which basically takes away one of the last things to chose a Geforce over a Radeon for some people."
if he spoke about MS windows consumer, he's problably right. but for anything related to linux desktop, ATI is a frakking joke.

"One of the last things" and "for some people" leaves plenty of room for the FRAKKING Linux issues you mentioned. Hopefully Steam on Linux will make Linux gaming less exotic. It seems to have helped Mac gaming.

Yeah right. I left out Linux, as well as any other OS that's basically non-existant wrt the average consumer's desktop or notebook PC. You are free, however, to express and share your testing's results (instead of giving an opinionated rant about how irrelevant Linux seems to be for AMD.

(Do you hear me complaining aboout lack-o-love for Window XP btw which I deem a still larger market than Linux)
