Ya just meant in this particular bench. Crytek said only reflections use RT cores right? I dont think their test sequence has many if any at all....
Its not providing enough of a speed up that would point to RT cores doing much.
The xx80 tier of GPUs. They have no path to offer anything noticeably faster since they are already on the largest die. When was the last time...
I’d wager them needing to use the 102 die to offer a relevant performance increase at the 104 tier factors in.
I dont doubt the 2080ti being faster in various scenarios. It’s highly unlikely the 3070 ends up around 2080/2080s performance level, which is...
Nvidia claimed the 3070 is faster than a 2080ti. I cant see a 3080 being 50-70% faster.
Did you mean 3060?
I suppose we can rule out bandwidth limitations for Ampere.
Doom Eternal already suffers performance drops at 4k for 8 GB GPUs. It's not a stretch at all to assume 10GB will become an issue over the next...
Performance is pretty variable depending on the scene. More so than in a typical open world game.
Id say its the other way around.
The system requirements are interesting to say the least.
What if all the reviewers released early? Nvidia cant sue/blackball them all!!
Other than the higher framerate, I'm not seeing where there's a leap over GoW.
Devs surely can find a use for int 4/8 in some graphics and/or compute work outside of AI no?
Where is that 134 watts on top of the GPU core going? Seems like an awful lot of power. Almost triple the 2080ti.
For the life of me, I can not understand the appeal of Ubisoft open world games. As you level up all the enemies around you level up as well so...
It doesn't going by the PC versions. I'm not sure what it is. Their games have poor animation to begin with so it must be something else.
Those numbers are much more sobering. Wonder why their borderlands numbers are so much lower than Nvidia’ s.
At the median 2.1x 5700xt performance, that would put it 45% faster than a 2080ti.
This is some of the most cringe marketing.
I don't mind paper launches. I see no negatives from having the performance info sooner rather than later.
Would be nice if the showing was sooner.
I never put stock into IHV claims of power improvements. It's often at some completely meaningless comparison point. Ampere is a good example.
I was wrong. It can be any number of INT instructions in multiples of 16 if i understood the replies correctly. So 112+16, 80+48 etc. The...
What is the level of granularity for FP and INT scheduling per SM?
I wasn't sure how granular the split could be but Computerbase.de states its either 128FP or 64FP + 64INT. I figured it was a scheduling...
Not true. Supported modes are only 128+0 or 64+64.
+50% according to Nvidia so maybe a bit less when looking at independent review summaries.
I suspect the big performance penalty there is for the extreme LOD.
Perhaps it overlaps with the RT work of the next frame?
This is not correct IIRC. No concrete performance info was given out about UE5 on anything other than a PS5. An Epic employee said it would run...
That was for A100 if I'm not mistaken. They have half the throughput on the consumer variants.
Improving the foliage would be the best upgrade they could make but thats not likely to be feasible.
I played the opening bridge sequence in the beta and it was incredibly boring.
5700xt has improved a bit since those launch results.
Ya i dont think AMD will achieve this level of performance. I was just noting he had low balled the performance of the 5700xt. Something in...
5700xt is about 85% the performance of RTX2080. A straight doubling of 5700xt performance puts it 40% ahead of RTX2080ti.
In that you will need noticeably more powerful hardware to offer an equivalent experience.
Does any one have info on how many MS rasterization takes on todays popular GPUs?
Probably similar to this gen with more HZD situations since Sony is planning to release more games on PC.
Whats the name of the twitter account?
It's still a different scenario. We don't know if or how it will impact GPU performance.
Isn't their a separate hardware block in consoles that handle it? Unless there's a custom hardware block in these GPUs it will be trading...
I think devs on this very forum have stated that "low level" PC APIs are not even close to what is available on consoles, particularly PS4. There...
Are people really denying that consoles are more efficient? Its pretty much a fact.
Damn was hoping earlier than card availability.
You dont think AMD can make a GPU 50% faster than 5700xt?
Do we know when Ampere review embargo lifts?
The DF video does show much more impressive improvements.
From the limited info, looks like 40-50% improvement at each respective tier when we ignore Nvidia marketing shenanigans.
