I'm interested in seeing the results with a singular vendor more than I am from multiple vendors. If it does 90% to 100% scaling in all titles...
The allocation is probably more for the Alienware division than Dell proper.
Crossfire works fine on nvidia chipset boards. Some vendors like Alienware will have ATi certify the board for them.
When I got my 4870 it was the only viable option in the price range and it's been a great card - except I need to turn up the default fan speed...
No, but some ex Tribes guys did. :)
Probably not. Content is very expensive to create these days :(
I still love my Dell 2407.
I'd really like it if Nvidia released a "CUDA" driver for Vista so it could be used with any graphics card you pleased. I tried installing an 8800...
Valve has a built in defrag mechanism for Steam. Try it first.
A virtual Voodoo 5 and TNT2 would be perfect.
I guess it's a Crossfire thing, I also have a 3870 X2 in my test station.
It made me reboot my Vista 32 bit.
I don't see why not, although AFAIK Vista only supports 3 GPUs.
IMO that's a rather unfair standard to hold ATi to unless you also hold NV to the same standard. NV at least has a profiler, though.
I had a Pure3d, it was a great card for it's day.
I'm buying a $300 video card for the first time since the 9700. Goodbye 1900XT :)
We'll know when some cards come out and we can overclock the memory, right?
Wouldn't those GPU dies need to be tested anyway?
MS knows how to make a devkit and the design of the system and how it works is something Carmack is already familiar with. From what I've read the...
Until this is as good as Soundstorm in terms of drivers and does Dolby Digital Live, who cares?
What I want is Soundstorm 2 on PCI-E
Yes the 9700 is supposed to be blocky? (sorry, I'm running low on sleep so my comprehension is broken)
Is the 9700 shot supposed to be blocky? I'm confused as to whats going on here.
While certainly not ever review, I think we could use a quarterly graphics card roundup.
Wait a second Chalnoth, did you ever use a Savage 4 on an intel motherboard? The card admittedly had serious issues on VIA chipsets, but it was...
Hey, performance improvements in actual games. Cool beans for ATI.
I really look forward to your R9700 review, Rev. (lololol alteration)
For someone looking at a card to replace my Ti200, the 9500...
Give us the real version? Please?
I use the 28.32s and have no problems in any game (Well, the shadows glitch in Ground Control now and again, but the game is pretty old). They...
My hope is that the 9500 is about as fast as the Ti4600 and a bit faster with AF/FSAA. I also hope its about ~$215
My Savage 4 ran everything I wanted it to.... back when a 300/450 was the norm. I didn't run into any compatability issues... so long as it ran on...
The original poster is pretty obviously an ignorant troll or something, espeically since he has yet to provide something else for baseline...
I'd bet ATi has allready been working on .13mu desigins for the R300. By the time the 13mu is viable for the NV30 it probably will be too.
I've been lurking here since the V3/TNT2 days.
I don't post much, but I have to say I've been very dissapointed in some other posters lately,...
It seems a lot of people don't know that Commanche is VERY CPU bound. I'd bet NASCAR 4 is too.
I'd much rather see line graphs instead of a mere FPS average.
They're so much more telling.
I'm actually pretty happy with how the card is performing. I don't even see the point of playing a game without FSAA anymore.
Morrowind's water would be perfect if it had some geometry.
The reality is that the vast majority of people don't give a shit about TV out.
Uhm, actually, you're supposed to partition your drive, install win98 on the first partition and then isntall 2k/XP on the second partition....
I'd love to have 3 monitors. And as soon as I have a "real" job, I'm gonna get me some.
From all reports, the state of the 8500's drivers is pretty damned good. I'd buy one right now if I had 130 to spend.
I'm just dreaming needlessly here.
History seems to repeat itself an awful lot =p
I find it really unforunate that PVR seems to be in such a weird postion right now.
It would so kick ass to see a PVR card with a solid TnL...
And since the tail end of the GeForce 2 era, most everyone includes FSAA benchmarks. Who still uses 16 bit?
See, you missed my point. nVidia...
I don't think they are.
FSAA is the new emphasis, and cards are often benchmarked with that. Anyone with a GeForce 3 class part probably runs...
MGS's graphics are ok. The animation is excellent, and it certainly throws around quite a few polygons, but the main problem is, like with all...
Its still ass.
4MX = waste.
I like noko's idea, but I also have no clue how feasable it is.
I find nVidia adopting thier own API EXTREMELY unlikely. The developers probably won't support it.
Seperate T&L unit? Doubt it. nVidia has...
P3 and P4 are completely different things than NVidia's progress with the GeForce line. A much better comparisison would be the PPro -> P2 -> P3....
