Creator of SGDK (the catalyst for the boom in mega drive games recently) opened up a patreon.
check it out...
they gave away the best part of the game for free ;-)
he went over the GBA ports, probably not for 15 minutes though
even the vanilla graphics looks great though lol
devmiyax is adding high resolution background rendering to yaba sanshiro
it's super heavy though
Yeah the AA actually seems pretty decent, some of the people in that thread were saying games look best with just the VI filter disabled.
Yeah, you're right now that I think about it. But, I know they use the RDP blender (color combiner) for texture filtering. No idea if there's a...
only some of it. the part you can't disable (the internal AA, not sure if that's the right name) is the one i'd really want to.
idk man. It looks out of place to me when it's that crisp and clean. It's like playing a PS1 game at 1080p, and the low polygon counts of...
Just wish N64 games weren't so blurred out. Would be really interesting to see what the output would look like without all the anti-aliasing and...
yeah the first game looked great for such an early game, but zwei and saga looked even better at a much higher framerate. super impressive work.
higan already had this for a while i believe. just at 2x though, which is what i prefer. i like mode 7 to look a little chunky
wouldn't boosting the CPU use up more memory bandwidth though?
well, go for retro-bit if you want 100% authentic. i've heard good things about the m30 though. the dpad won't feel exactly the same i bet....
20 bucks shipped from newegg (no stock on amazon atm)
the original port version is 15 iirc
the saturn ones are 25 and 20 respectively.
ok so i...
Just got one of these new genesis pads. :cool2:
definitely original quality level.
comes in genesis compatible version or usb (with...
yeah, i'm pretty sure it's a "detail texture"
Yeah blastem is pretty impressive. It's super accurate and still really fast. Almost like higan/bsnes for the genesis but it'll run well even on...
Have you seen the "predator effect" in streets of rage 3?
the sebbbi effect
Well, the cube has higher bandwidth (7.8 GB/s framebuffer vs 5.3 GB/s on xbox), but they both have 4 pixel pipes and the xbox is clocked almost...
well, i'm just going by what the guy who (partially) wrote the ubershader path for dolphin said
Is that really an opinion thing? Heh
yeah it didn't have vertex shaders but the pixel pipeline was essentially at the same level as the xbox.
Am I the only one who likes the wii's "gamecube on steroids" hardware? I think most games could've done a lot more with it though. Mario galaxy...
idk man, i'm have to try it. but the pixely-ness is part of doom for me at this point
You sure about that? I'm not hearing it myself. The genny is putting out some pretty punchy bass here, though this is an old effort
Idk, in my experience it's been just one cheat.
Well, at least for MGS3. But it's not surprising that the engine supported 60 fps in that case....
Generally you have to modify the game code with a gameshark style cheat (MGS3 and Mario Sunshine are good examples). Games on newer systems like...
Surprisingly a decent number of games can be emulated at a higher framerate.
If you like that, check out this genesis cover a friend of mine did. Holds up pretty well vs the arcade version.
Wow, just realized this...
The fighting games were 60 fps at least. ;-)...
I was going by passmark scores (idk how good it is, but has a massive database of scores), checked how the multicore scaling is, applied that to...
8xZen+ with SMT at 3 GHz is probably at least 3-4x multicore performance than 8xJag. Single thread will be well over double too.
What are some examples of especially poor performing games on UE4? Pubg and Ark seem to normally be considered outliers.
I thought unreal used dx12 by default on xbox now.
80% higher resolution and better performance on PS4 vs the S is strange. The X running a lower resolution (it's pretty obvious in screenshots) and...
Still ended up a pretty great generation though.
some saturn gamehut videos
yeah i hate crappy shadows, but especially really noticeable shadow cascades. worst modern graphical artifact

The First Two Panzer Dragoon Games Are Getting...
Yeah, like cyan said. It's based on the doom engine, just with greatly extended capabilities. It uses opengl, so it can handle 3D models fine.
It's cool, but it's an opengl engine with capabilities way past the original doom.
That's not exactly what I meant. They said the Xbox struggled a bit more, performance wise, with some aspects of the game. I'm not sure which...
No, not at 60 fps without cutting back on particles, deformable cars and physics. Criterion said even the Xbox had more trouble than the PS2 with...
